The Red Storm flew to Atlanta, GA this past weekend for their first Tier 1 tournament of the season. Out of 36 varsity and JV teams, the squad finished in 13th place.
After six team games on Saturday, St. John’s was in 12th place and easily within striking distance of the top ten, but a slow start to the baker portion of the tournament on Sunday put them in an early hole. Back to back four-game blocks of 869 and 813 got the team back into the top 12 temporarily but the team ultimately fell to 13th to end their first major event of the season.
Leading the team once again was Brandon Soedarmasto, who knocked down 1,263 pins in six games to also finish 13th overall individually.
Next up is the second round of EIBC matches of the season at Holiday Bowl in Oakland, NJ on Saturday, November 12. Then, the following day, the team will be hosting its 30th Annual Alumni Doubles tournament at East Meadow Bowl, beginning at 12pm.
