The 30th Annual St. John's Bowling Alumni Doubles tournament took place this past Sunday, November 13th at East Meadow Bowl. 19 alumni who graduated between 1977 through 2016 teamed up with 19 current members of the bowling team in search of the infamous "Wacky Award," which is given to the high finishers.
Last year's champion Jim Lizzo got to choose his partner this season and came close to repeating with AJ Villa, but the duo of former All-American Ian Lang and freshman Anthony Naujokas ultimately claimed the top spot. The pairing of junior Nick Bonomo and PBA star Mike Fagan took third place.
Junior Steve Hamlin took the individual high series award for the current bowlers, beating Naujokas' 743 set by a single pin thanks to a 289 game in game 2.
The event raised significant funds for the current team to use for their tournament expenses. Thank you to everyone who came out to support this great event!
